Product Update: Selora AI Takes Shape, Frigate Support, and Static IP for SeloraBox
This week's highlights: Selora AI lands its first commits with automation recommendations and chat, SeloraBox gets managed Frigate support for turnkey security, and a new static IP option for Home Assistant VMs.

Selora AI: First Commits, First Conversations
Selora AI is getting off the ground. We’ve pushed the first commits and are focusing on the post-installation experience — when your smart home is already up and running and you want to get the most out of it. Selora AI will include specialized agents for different stages of a smart home project, and this is where we’re starting.
Here’s what it does: Selora AI monitors how you use Home Assistant and comes up with recommendations, primarily automations that fit your actual usage patterns. You interact with it through a built-in chat, which is also where you refine those recommendations. Want to tweak a suggested automation? Just discuss it with the agent, adjust the parameters, and let it handle the rest.

What’s Next for Selora AI
Right now, Selora AI works with your own AI model, either running locally or through a cloud service like Claude or ChatGPT. We will provide tailored models for Home Assistant, but until then, we rely on existing models.
In future iterations, we plan to simplify this to just two options:
- Local: Lightweight but efficient Selora Homes models that run 100% on your hardware. No data leaves your network.
- Cloud: Leveraging our infrastructure and more powerful models for users with higher needs. In this mode, anonymized data is sent to our cloud for processing.
The goal is to remove the complexity of model selection entirely and let you focus on what matters: a smarter home.
Managed Frigate on SeloraBox
We’ve started building a new service on SeloraBox: managed Frigate alongside Home Assistant.
Frigate is a powerful, open-source NVR with real-time AI object detection, and it’s a natural complement to Home Assistant for security. Our goal is to provide a turnkey security solution based on pre-selected hardware, so you get reliable camera monitoring without the setup headaches.
We’re working on a curated list of compatible cameras to make the selection straightforward. More details to come as we progress on this front.
Static IP for Home Assistant on SeloraBox
A new feature has landed for SeloraBox: you can now specify a fixed IP address for the Home Assistant VM instead of relying on DHCP.
This is particularly useful if you’re restoring from a previous installation and need a stable IP for all the services and devices that interact with Home Assistant. No more hunting down a new DHCP-assigned address after a restore.
The feature is fully documented in our IP configuration guide .
What’s Ahead
Both Selora AI and managed Frigate are targeting an MVP by the end of March. Selora AI will be available for testing next week, and once we have a version that users can install and start using, we’ll work on an OpenClaw integration to connect Selora AI to the broader ecosystem.
Stay tuned for more updates.
