ADC-AC-X200

Not recommended

Adds supervised input points to an Aero controller, for door contacts, request-to-exit and alarm inputs.

Selora does not recommend this device

Alarm.com access control hardware is licensed to an Alarm.com for Business account. The controllers are standard HID Aero and Mercury boards, but as sold their configuration and credential database live in Alarm.com's cloud, with no local API for Home Assistant.

This is the most reversible lock-in in the range, which is worth knowing. HID Aero and Mercury are open controller platforms that many access control vendors build on, so the panels, readers and wiring are not wasted if a client later changes software. What is bought from Alarm.com is the licence and the cloud, not the boards. For an install that needs door state and unlock events in Home Assistant, choose an access platform with a local API or an on-premise controller, and keep the same Mercury or Aero hardware underneath it.

Install instead
  • An access control platform with a documented local API, running on the same Mercury or HID Aero hardware
  • Ubiquiti
  • For a single door in a home, a Z-Wave or Matter lock Home Assistant drives directly

Protocols

Supervised inputs for an Aero controller: door position contacts, request-to-exit devices, tamper and general alarm points.

Supervision is the point. A supervised input detects a cut or shorted cable rather than reading it as a quiet door, which is what separates access control wiring from a doorbell.

Hardware availability

Alarm.com hardware is sold and provisioned through authorized dealers, and the video, access control and business products also need the matching Alarm.com service plan on top of the hardware. The Z-Wave devices are the exception: they carry no service dependency once they are out of the panel’s network, and they turn up on the resale market at a fraction of dealer pricing.
