Worth knowing about for takeovers. Z-Wave JS carries a device file for it under Building 36 Technologies, so unlike the newer S40-T its configuration parameters arrive named rather than numbered.
Two of those parameters decide whether it is useful. A reporting threshold set in tenths of a degree Fahrenheit governs how much the temperature must move before it speaks, and a configuration bitmask can switch reporting off entirely, which is worth checking first on a unit that appears dead. The wake-up period controls how long it listens after a button press, which is the window you have to push a new configuration to it.
Battery powered and sleeping, so it neither repeats nor responds on demand. Specify the ADC-S40-T for new work.
