ADC-VACC-SP4W

Not recommended

A 4W solar panel for keeping the ADC-V731B battery camera topped up. A sensible accessory, tied to a camera we would not specify.

Selora does not recommend this device

An accessory for the ADC-V731B battery camera, which is itself locked to the Alarm.com video service, so it has no function in a Home Assistant system.

Nothing is wrong with the accessory. It is listed so the range is complete and so an installer meeting one on site knows what it belongs to. The reason not to specify it is entirely the camera it attaches to.

ha-alarmdotcom: what the maintained Alarm.com integration does and does not cover

A small solar panel that trickle charges the ADC-V731B so a well-sited camera does not have to come down to be recharged.

The idea is right. A battery camera that never needs servicing is a much better product than one that needs a ladder every few months, and south-facing panels make that realistic for most of the year.

It is listed here for completeness rather than as a recommendation, because it fits one camera on a closed platform. Battery cameras on local platforms take solar the same way.

Hardware availability

Alarm.com hardware is sold and provisioned through authorized dealers, and the video, access control and business products also need the matching Alarm.com service plan on top of the hardware. The Z-Wave devices are the exception: they carry no service dependency once they are out of the panel’s network, and they turn up on the resale market at a fraction of dealer pricing.
