The Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) is the reference streaming player for Home Assistant. The local apple_tv integration exposes it as a media_player with push-based playback state, remote navigation, and app launching, so scenes can start a movie, dim the lights on play, and pause the room when the doorbell rings.
Fully local via the pyatv-based apple_tv integration (local push); pairs with an on-screen PIN. Gigabit Ethernet and Thread border routing are on the 128 GB model only; the 64 GB model is Wi-Fi only. Power buttons toggle standby rather than cutting power, and volume control depends on HDMI-CEC or a paired HomePod.
