The Aqara Smart Lock U300 is a lever-handle lock with native Matter over Thread, fingerprint, keypad, and Apple home key, one of the only local-Matter leversets, for single-bore doors that cannot take a deadbolt.

The answer for interior doors, offices, and single-bore exterior doors where a deadbolt will not fit. Needs a Thread border router and a Matter controller, no Aqara hub required; Home Assistant then gets local lock, unlock, state, and battery. Fingerprint and PIN user events stay in the Aqara app. Runs about ten months on four AA batteries. Sold in hub bundles, but the hub only adds Aqara-app extras, not anything Home Assistant needs.
