A machined-aluminium cinema remote pairing a 4-inch touchscreen with a 2.2-inch dynamic keypad and three IR emitters, aimed at high-end theatre rooms. It runs AVA OS on certified Android, so Home Assistant is driven through webhooks or an app in kiosk mode rather than a native integration.
No Home Assistant integration and no entities in Home Assistant: the remote calls in, through webhooks or REST over the LAN, or runs an Android app locked with kiosk mode. Nothing feeds state back, so an activity started from Home Assistant leaves the remote's display out of step with the room. Hardware is a 4-inch touchscreen over a 2.2-inch dynamic keypad in 3D glass with mechanical click, octa-core at 2 GHz, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, Wi-Fi 802.11ac on both bands, Bluetooth LE 5.0, NFC, three internal IR emitters, and a microphone and speaker for voice, on a 2900 mAh battery with a magnetic USB-C dock. Legacy AV gear is reached from the handset over infrared, which is what makes this the theatre-room option; the 360-degree emitter and HDMI-CEC that AVA advertises come from its Nano Brain, a separate box, not from the remote. native drivers target Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Josh.ai, RTI, Savant, and Elan. MSRP is around 1,300 USD, an order of magnitude above a purpose-built Home Assistant remote, so it earns its place in a room already running one of those control systems rather than in a Home Assistant install on its own.
Hardware availability
AVA sells through custom-install dealers rather than direct, and programming AVA OS needs a Pro account issued through that dealer channel. Budget for the account and the dealer relationship, not just the hardware.
