A Dreame D9 or D9 Pro rooted and reflashed with cloud-free Valetudo firmware. It publishes a full vacuum entity and live map to Home Assistant over MQTT, runs on the local network, and can have its internet access blocked. One of the most private options in this catalog, and often easier to root than the Roborock equivalents.
Tier 1, local. Both the Dreame D9 and D9 Pro are on the Valetudo supported-robots list and are rooted over UART. A solderless breakout PCB on the service test points often keeps the seals intact, which makes Dreame hardware friendlier to root than the FEL-flash Roborocks. Once flashed, Valetudo runs an MQTT client with Home Assistant autodiscovery and exposes a vacuum entity (start, pause, stop, return_to_base, clean_spot, locate, set_fan_speed, send_command), battery and bin sensors, and full live map data, with per-room cleaning after the mapped segments are matched to Home Assistant areas. Because it runs fully on the LAN, the robot's WAN access can be blocked on an IoT VLAN. The D9 line is discontinued, so buy used and match the exact supported PCB revision. Near-identical Dreame model names can have opposite rooting outcomes, so verify the serial against the Valetudo list before buying. Unrooted, the D9 also works with the community dreame_vacuum integration over the Dreame cloud or a local connection, but rooting it for Valetudo is the fully cloud-free path this page recommends. Mova and Viomi rebrands are not recommended.
