Stock firmware is cloud-only: Emporia offers no local API on any Vue model, and the HACS emporia_vue integration polls Emporia's cloud. We flash the Vue 3's ESP32 with ESPHome, a well-documented conversion that makes every CT a local push sensor in Home Assistant with no Emporia account, app, or subscription. The flash replaces the stock app entirely, so readings live in the Home Assistant energy dashboard instead.
