Eve Energy Outlet replaces a standard in-wall outlet with two outlets that Home Assistant switches separately over Matter over Thread, with power and energy readings.
Replaces a standard in-wall outlet and fits a regular wall plate. The wall box needs line, neutral, and ground wires, and it is for dry, indoor locations only. Eve recommends an electrician for anyone unsure about the wiring. It is rated 15 A (1,800 W), and up to 600 W of LED lighting.
Home Assistant adds it through the Matter integration without an Eve account and shows the top and bottom outlets as separate switches, so each can be controlled on its own. Buttons on the outlet switch each one by hand. Power and energy readings cover both outlets combined, and Home Assistant shows them on the top outlet.
Because it is always powered, it also relays for battery Thread sensors such as Eve Door & Window and Eve Motion, which makes the Thread network stronger. A Thread border router is still needed on the network.

Recipes that can use it
These recipes are built around other hardware, and pick this device up as an optional extra.
Leak Auto Shutoff
Installs a Home Assistant automation that closes your water shutoff valve the instant a leak sensor goes wet, so a burst hose or a failed valve stops flooding within seconds. Add a smart plug to cut the appliance, a siren, and a speaker.
Solar Surplus EV Charging
Installs a Home Assistant automation that starts your EV charger when your solar array is producing a surplus and stops it when production drops, so the car pulls from the roof rather than the grid. Add a grid meter and a home battery and it holds back until they are happy too.
