Eve Motion is a battery motion sensor on Matter over Thread with a 120-degree field of view, rated IPX3 so it works outdoors as well as inside.
A motion sensor with a 120-degree field of view that reaches up to 30 ft when mounted at 6.5 ft. It stands on a shelf or mounts on a wall, runs on two AAA batteries, and its IPX3 rating lets it work outdoors as well as inside.
It runs on Matter over Thread, so it needs a Thread border router on the network. Home Assistant adds it through the Matter integration without an Eve account, and motion from it can turn on lights or start any other automation. Motion sensitivity and how long motion stays detected are set in the Eve app, which needs Apple Home.
Buy the current version, which has the Matter logo on the box. Older units were sold for Apple HomeKit only and have to be upgraded to Matter first, which takes an iPhone or iPad and an Apple home hub such as a HomePod mini.
