GC-100-12
The GC-100-12 network adapter carries six IR ports, two RS-232 ports, and three relays in one Ethernet box. It is the Global Caché unit Home Assistant's gc100 integration is documented against, and the one that covers a whole rack of IR gear plus dry-contact loads from a single IP address.
Works on integrations
Six 3.5mm ports selectable as IR outputs or sensor inputs, two male DB9 RS-232 ports at 1200 baud to 57.6 kbaud, and three relays with transient voltage suppression rated 24V AC/DC at 0.5 A normally open. Home Assistant sends IR through the itach remote platform and drives the relays and digital inputs through the gc100 switch and binary_sensor platforms, addressing each as `'x:y': name` by module and port. On a GC-100-12 the relays sit on module 3, ports 1 to 3, which is worth checking against any example written for an iTach, where the same relays answer on module 1. Both integrations connect to TCP port 4998 and Home Assistant warns they will likely not work concurrently against the same GC-100, which is the main constraint on a mixed IR-plus-relay job: budget one unit per role rather than assuming one box covers both. Serial is not supported by either integration; the two RS-232 ports appear on TCP 4999 and 5000. The GC-100-18 carries the same port complement in a wider chassis and the GC-100-18R is that unit with the rack-mount kit fitted, so anything here applies to all three. Legacy hardware, still sold through distribution and common secondhand.
Hardware availability
Global Caché is rebuilding its website and the per-model product pages are offline as of August 2026, so the purchase links here point at the manufacturer’s North America distributor list. The iTach, iTach Flex, and Global Connect families are current. The GC-100 network adapters are legacy: they are no longer promoted on the manufacturer’s product page but remain widely deployed and are still sold through distribution and the secondary market.
