iTach Flex FLEX-IP
The iTach Flex FLEX-IP is a single wired gateway whose function is set by the cable you plug into it: IR, RS-232, RS-485, or relay and sensor. It speaks the same TCP API as the iTach and GC-100, so with an IR cable fitted Home Assistant drives it through the itach remote platform.
Works on integrations
A Flex does nothing on its own: it needs one Flex Link cable, and that cable decides what the unit is. FLC-3E gives three IR emitters, FLC-2E1B two emitters and a blaster, FLC-BL a blaster, FLC-T3 a tri-port, FLC-SL-232 and FLC-SL-485 serial, and FLC-RS relay and sensor. One cable at a time, so a room needing both IR and serial needs two Flex units. The published TCP API is iTach and GC-100 compatible by design, so Home Assistant's YAML platforms need no special handling: with an IR cable fitted the three channels answer `sendir` at `1:1` through `1:3`, exactly the `modaddr` 1 and `connaddr` 1 to 3 the itach platform expects, and with the FLC-RS cable the logical relay ports answer `setstate` on module 1, ports 1 to 4, which is the gc100 `'x:y': name` mapping. There is also an HTTP/JSON API, useful from a `rest_command` when the YAML platforms do not fit. Built-in IR learning and free access to Global Caché's Control Tower code database. Power is 5V DC or the included USB micro cable, and the FLEX-IP-P adds 802.3af PoE.
Hardware availability
Global Caché is rebuilding its website and the per-model product pages are offline as of August 2026, so the purchase links here point at the manufacturer’s North America distributor list. The iTach, iTach Flex, and Global Connect families are current. The GC-100 network adapters are legacy: they are no longer promoted on the manufacturer’s product page but remain widely deployed and are still sold through distribution and the secondary market.
