iTach WF2IR
The iTach WF2IR is the Wi-Fi version of the IP2IR infrared gateway. It exposes the same three selectable IR output or sensor ports and the same TCP API on port 4998, so Home Assistant's itach remote platform drives it identically, without a network drop at the equipment.
Works on integrations
Identical IR interface to the IP2IR: three independent 3.5mm ports selectable as IR outputs or sensor inputs, three emitters and one blaster included, blaster on the third port. The radio is 802.11b/g only, so it needs a 2.4 GHz SSID and it will not join a 5 GHz-only or WPA3-only network. Home Assistant configuration is the same YAML `remote` platform with `host`, `port` (4998), and per-device `connaddr` and `modaddr`, using Pronto hex commands. Give it a DHCP reservation: the itach platform is configured by IP address and has no discovery, so a lease change silently breaks every command. Prefer the wired IP2IR wherever a cable can reach. Control is TCP, so ordinary packet loss is retransmitted, but a weak signal turns into latency on a protocol that already reports nothing back, and a stalled socket leaves Home Assistant believing an IR command landed when the gateway never received it.
Hardware availability
Global Caché is rebuilding its website and the per-model product pages are offline as of August 2026, so the purchase links here point at the manufacturer’s North America distributor list. The iTach, iTach Flex, and Global Connect families are current. The GC-100 network adapters are legacy: they are no longer promoted on the manufacturer’s product page but remain widely deployed and are still sold through distribution and the secondary market.
