The Hikvision DS-2CD2387G2-LU is a 4K ColorVu turret that shoots full color around the clock. RTSP and ONVIF- profile streams are fully local, and Home Assistant's Hikvision integration adds camera-side event sensors.
ColorVu's F1.0 optics and 1/1.2-inch sensor deliver 24/7 color where other cameras switch to IR. The Hikvision integration exposes the RTSP stream plus human/vehicle-classified events (motion, line crossing, intrusion) as binary sensors; set each event to Notify Surveillance Center on the camera, and ONVIF works as an alternative path. Compliance note: NDAA Section 889 bans Hikvision for US federal procurement and federally contracted sites, and since November 2022 the FCC grants no new equipment authorizations for the brand. Private residential and commercial use of already-authorized gear remains legal, so weigh it per client. IP67, 802.3af PoE, microSD to 256GB.
