Connect ZBT-2 is the first party Zigbee and Thread radio for Home Assistant. It is a tuned antenna on a weighted base rather than a USB stick, so the radio sits away from the hub and its interference instead of on top of it.

Setup guides
Silicon Labs MG24 radio with an ESP32-S3 USB to serial bridge running at 460800 baud, four times the ZBT-1 link speed, on 2400 to 2483.5MHz at 10dBm in Europe and 8dBm elsewhere. The 24mm by 164mm omnidirectional antenna peaks at 4.16 dBi and ships on its own base with a 1.5m USB-C cable, and that cable is the point: keep the antenna off the rack and away from USB 3 ports and Wi-Fi access points, which is where most Zigbee range complaints actually come from. One protocol at a time, so it runs Zigbee or Thread and never both; where a design needs a Zigbee mesh and a Thread border router, specify two. Zigbee runs through ZHA, Thread through the OpenThread Border Router that Matter over Thread devices then join, and Home Assistant handles both the migration from a ZBT-1 or SkyConnect and the over the air firmware updates. Indoor only, 0 to 65C, USB-C at 5V 500mA.
