The current generation is Zigbee 3.0 and joins with standard network steering, no install code. Home Assistant gets lock and unlock, battery, PIN management (ZHA lock user-code actions or Zigbee2MQTT pin_code), and on Zigbee2MQTT keypad events that identify which code slot unlocked, enough for per-user automations. It is a sleepy battery device, so pair it near the coordinator and wake it from the keypad. Runs about a year on four AA batteries with SmartKey re-keying. Buy the ZB SKU deliberately: the identical-looking 914 Z-Wave, Halo Wi-Fi, and Aura Bluetooth models are different radios.
