The Kwikset SmartCode 914 is a budget Z-Wave Plus keypad deadbolt that Home Assistant controls fully locally on Z-Wave JS, with 30 user codes, keypad events, and a SmartKey re-keyable cylinder.
An older 500-series Z-Wave Plus radio with S2 support, still a dependable budget pick, but new installs get a faster radio and far more code slots from the Home Connect 620. Include with S2 secure inclusion for lock control. Home Assistant manages its 30 PIN codes and sees lock state, battery, jam and tamper notifications, and keypad events. The 914 also comes in a Zigbee 3.0 variant with its own page; the Z-Wave touchscreen 916 is discontinued (its Zigbee version lives on), and the Halo Wi-Fi line is cloud-only.
