The Moen Flo Shutoff is fitted into the main water line, where it watches flow, pressure and temperature and closes the water on a leak. Home Assistant controls it through the Moen cloud.
It is plumbed into the main cold water line, and Moen recommends a licensed plumber for the job. It goes in after the water meter, the main shutoff and any pressure regulator. It comes in three sizes to match the pipe: 900-001 for 3/4 inch, 900-006 for 1 inch and 900-002 for 1 1/4 inch.
It needs an outlet with constant power within 10 feet and a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, with no separate hub. It is rated IPX5 against splashing, but has to stay between 32 and 140 °F, so it cannot go in a space that freezes.
Beyond closing the water, it reports flow rate, water pressure and water temperature, and runs Health Tests that check the plumbing for leaks. Home Assistant’s Flo integration shows the valve as a switch, where off closes the water, alongside sensors for flow, pressure, temperature and daily use.
The integration reaches the valve through the Moen cloud and checks it on a schedule rather than hearing changes instantly, so it cannot close the valve while the internet is down. Accounts moved to the new Moen app need Home Assistant 2026.9.1 or later to sign in.
