The Eugénie box is the DIN-rail Overkiz controller Nexity fits into an apartment's electrical panel during construction, driving the shutters, lighting, heating, smoke detection, and energy monitoring the Eugénie app shows. Home Assistant reaches the same devices through the Overkiz integration with Nexity Eugénie as the server.

Custom hardware built for Nexity by Overkiz and Somfy and deployed across the group's new programmes at a scale of thousands of homes a year, which is why it turns up in Home Assistant questions far more often than its brand recognition suggests. It sits in the panel rather than beside the router, so the network drop to it was decided by the builder. Cloud only: the integration authenticates against the Eugénie account, and there is no local API for this vendor. The app mixes home automation with building and property services, so a resident moving their automations to Home Assistant keeps the Eugénie account for the rest, rather than replacing the box. Not available at retail: it comes with the property.

The Eugénie box is supplied with the property, custom built for Nexity, and not available at retail. It is cloud only in Home Assistant. Eugénie bundles building and property services alongside the home automation, so a resident moving to Home Assistant keeps the box and the account rather than replacing them.
