The dongle carries two radios, a 500-series Z-Wave Plus module on Z-Wave JS and a Silicon Labs EmberZNet Zigbee radio on ZHA through the Silicon Labs EZSP driver. It appears to the host as two serial ports. Both radios are legacy. Use it to keep an existing install running rather than for new work, where separate 800-series Z-Wave and current Zigbee sticks do better. Its stock Zigbee firmware is old enough that current ZHA may not start on it. Flash the community EmberZNet 6.7.8 update before pairing Zigbee devices. Buy the US 908.42 MHz region for the Z-Wave side, and give it a short USB 2.0 extension cable to clear USB 3.0 ports and SSDs, whose 2.4 GHz noise cripples Zigbee and degrades Z-Wave.
