The Nuki Smart Lock mounts over the inside of an existing deadbolt, keeping keys and exterior hardware. Home Assistant controls it locally over Matter on Thread, with lock, unlock, and unlatch, and no cloud account needed.

One of the most Home Assistant-friendly retrofits: renter-safe, fully reversible, with a rechargeable battery and a keypad and door-sensor ecosystem. Over Matter (Thread border router plus Matter controller required) Home Assistant gets lock, unlock, true unlatch, and battery. Nuki's built-in MQTT client is the richer local path on the Ultra, Pro, and 4th-gen platform this lock derives from. Bench-verify MQTT on this US SKU before promising it. Add the Nuki Door Sensor for door state. Wi-Fi app remote works without the lock ever touching a required cloud account.
