Advanced Series 48A

Selora recommended

Open-source 48A Level 2 charging station, sold assembled or as a kit with a J1772 or NACS cable. The deepest local Home Assistant integration of any EVSE: 1A-step current control, MQTT overrides, and solar-surplus charging.

Roles it can fill
The core openevse integration connects over the local HTTP API with WebSocket push and zeroconf discovery: 6-48A charge-rate control, session and lifetime energy, and divert/eco status, with pause/resume overrides available through the firmware's MQTT topics. Solar-surplus (Eco) charging modulates 6A to max from PV data fed via MQTT, and the firmware also speaks OCPP 1.6J. Adjustable 6-48A output in 1A increments at 208-264 V; ships plug-in with a NEMA 14-30/14-50/14-60 input cable; 48A requires 14-60 or hardwiring (40A max on a 14-50). J1772 and NACS cable options, IP68, assembled or kit. Open hardware with DIY heritage: the station itself is not UL-listed, which can matter for permits.
