Selora recommended

The reference open-source sprinkler controller: 8 zones on board, expandable to 72 with zone expanders, built-in Wi-Fi and OLED display, with an optional wired Ethernet module. Driven by the OpenSprinkler HACS integration (local polling of the controller's HTTP API): zone and program switches, run-once with per-zone durations, rain delay, and controller sensors. Firmware also publishes MQTT natively. Available in AC-powered (24 VAC), DC-powered, and Latch variants ($140–$183); the stock 24 VAC/500 mA transformer supports up to 4 simultaneous valves. Supports remote and HTTP stations, two master stations, and multiple sensor inputs.
