The recommended path is the Hue Bridge, which the hue integration controls fully locally over its v2 API; it can also pair directly to ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT with no bridge, which forgoes Hue entertainment and sync and carries some firmware-compatibility risk. The Bridge exposes it to Matter. Bluetooth is for the Hue app only, not a Home Assistant path.
