ESP-ME3 + LNK2
Rain Bird's modular step-up controller: 4 stations on the base unit, expandable to 22 with hot-swappable 3- and 6-station modules, the right pick for larger properties. With the LNK2 Wi-Fi module installed, Home Assistant controls every zone locally through the core Rain Bird integration, with rain delay, schedules, and rain-sensor state included.
Same local integration path and caveats as the ESP-TM2: one connection to the LNK module at a time, and the Rain Bird 2.0 app/firmware migration to IQ4 cloud must be avoided to keep local access. Supports a wired flow sensor (sold separately) for flow monitoring and broken-pipe alerts. Base unit about $216 at the Rain Bird store plus about $151 for the LNK2 module.
