ratgdo encoder
The ratgdo encoder is a magnetic position sensor that tells a ratgdo board where the door actually is and which way it is moving. It is what gives a dry contact opener real open, closed, and in-between state instead of a guess.
An accessory, not a controller: the rotor and sensor base feed a ratgdo board through its 6-pin auxiliary harness, with no network, power, or integration of their own. What they add shows up as the board's encoder position. On a dry contact opener or gate it is the part that makes position possible at all, because without it or a pair of limit switches a dry contact ratgdo can pulse the door but cannot report whether it ended up open, and it mounts to the drive gear without tools. On Security+ 1.0 it converts the opener to dry contact control, which sidesteps the wall panel pairing that makes 1.0 unreliable. On Security+ 2.0 the opener already reports its own state, so the encoder earns its place by catching a door moved by hand: it mounts at the spring end of the overhead door there and needs a low-voltage wire run back to the board that is not in the box. Works with the ratgdo32, the ratgdo32 disco, and the older ESP8266 v2.5i on ESPHome firmware only. Ships as the magnetic sensor base, the magnetic rotor, and the harness; ratcloud discounts it when bought with a board, and it has been out of stock in stretches, so order it with the controller rather than on the second visit.
