Dimmer
A dimmer controls both the on/off state and the brightness of a connected light. It brings smooth, scheduled, and scene-based lighting control to fixtures that would otherwise only switch fully on or off.
A dimmer module varies the power delivered to a light so Home Assistant can set any brightness level, not just on or off. Wired dimmers fit behind an existing switch or inside the fixture, and many work with or without a neutral wire and detect the load type automatically.
