EV Charger
An EV charger (EVSE) delivers Level 2 charging to an electric vehicle and reports sessions to Home Assistant. Under local control it becomes a schedulable, meterable load: start, stop, and current limits with no cloud in the loop.
An EV charger (technically an EVSE, since the charger itself lives in the car) is usually the single largest controllable load in a home. Connected to Home Assistant over a local API, Modbus, or OCPP, it exposes charging state, session energy, and per-phase power, and accepts commands to start, stop, and cap the charging current in real time.
