Picking a lock
Pick a lock Home Assistant controls locally. Z-Wave deadbolts on Z-Wave JS are the installer standard. Pair them with S2 secure inclusion, which lock control requires. Zigbee and Matter-over-Thread locks are also fully local; Matter models need a Thread border router and a Matter controller on site. Avoid Wi-Fi locks that route every command through a vendor cloud. A dead internet connection should never stand between a client and their front door.
