Relay
A relay is a wired switching module that fits behind an existing switch or fixture and turns a circuit on or off on command. It adds smart control to lights and appliances without changing the wall switch.
A relay module wires in behind a wall switch, light fixture, or appliance and switches the load electrically. Because it hides inside the back box, the existing switch keeps working while Home Assistant gains independent control of the circuit. Many relays also meter power, so the same module reports how much the connected load draws.
