Thermostat

A thermostat or smart radiator valve controls heating and cooling to a target temperature. It keeps rooms comfortable on a schedule while trimming the energy spent on empty or overheated spaces.

A thermostat sets and holds a target temperature by switching a boiler, heat pump, or HVAC stage; a smart radiator valve (TRV) does the same job per radiator. Reporting current and target temperature back to Home Assistant lets heating follow occupancy and schedules instead of running flat out.

How Selora AI uses thermostats

  • Per-room and per-zone heating that warms spaces only when and where they are used.
  • Schedule and presence recipes that set temperatures back at night or when the home is away.
  • Comfort and savings balance that holds setpoints precisely while cutting wasted runtime.

Why climate control matters

Heating and cooling are usually the largest energy cost in a home. Smart thermostats and valves turn that cost into something measurable and automatable, with comfort that occupants feel every day.
