Recipes using this device
Circadian Adaptive Lighting
Installs a Home Assistant automation that walks the colour and brightness of your dimmable lights through the day, cool and bright around midday and warm and low in the evening. It only ever changes lights that are already on, so it never switches a light on by itself.
High Energy Usage Alert
Installs a Home Assistant automation that watches your whole-home power draw and warns you when it stays high for longer than it should, so a heater or a forgotten appliance does not run all day unnoticed. Add speakers to hear it, add a smart plug to shed the load.
Recipes that can use it
These recipes are built around other hardware, and pick this device up as an optional extra.
Motion Hallway Light
Installs a Home Assistant automation that turns a hallway or landing light on when motion is seen and off again once the space has been still for a grace period you set. Add a light sensor and it only runs after dark, add a presence sensor and it holds the light while someone lingers.
Movie Mode
Installs a Home Assistant automation that dims the lights when the TV starts playing and brings them back when it stops. Add shades to close, a soundbar to power on, a scene button to trigger it by hand, and dimmable accent lights.
Presence Room Lighting
Installs a Home Assistant automation that keeps a room's lights on for as long as an mmWave presence sensor sees someone in it, and switches them off shortly after the room empties. Add a light sensor to run only after dark, and dimmable lights that come up softly.
Solar Surplus EV Charging
Installs a Home Assistant automation that starts your EV charger when your solar array is producing a surplus and stops it when production drops, so the car pulls from the roof rather than the grid. Add a grid meter and a home battery and it holds back until they are happy too.
