LiveIn2 Box
The LiveIn2 box is Simu's Overkiz gateway for its own Hz and bidirectional BHz radio, the protocols its shutter and awning motors use instead of io-homecontrol. It is discontinued, replaced by Somfy's TaHoma switch, and Home Assistant still supports it through the Overkiz integration over the cloud.
Works on integrations
Dual radio is the point of it: bidirectional BHz at 868 to 870 MHz, where a motor answers with its position, plus one-way Hz at 433.42 MHz for older equipment. Somfy RTS motors can be driven by the same box but report nothing back, so a mixed installation ends up with some covers holding real state in Home Assistant and others assumed, which is worth mapping before writing automations rather than after. Range is quoted at 200 m open field and 20 m indoors, and the box connects to the router by cable. Simu has ended the product and moved the offer to the TaHoma switch, so treat LiveIn2 as an installation to support: cloud only, no local API, and no successor firmware coming. Where a client wants local control, the migration is a TaHoma switch plus re-onboarding, not a configuration change.
Hardware availability
The LiveIn2 box is discontinued: Simu moved the offer to Somfy’s TaHoma switch, which brings a wider compatibility list and the local API that LiveIn2 never had. Existing boxes still work and Home Assistant still supports them, cloud only. Somfy RTS equipment can be driven by a LiveIn2 box but reports nothing back, so those covers stay stateless in Home Assistant.
