A Texas Instruments CC2652P7 radio at +20 dBm on a rotatable external antenna, driven by an ESP32-S3 that carries the Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and USB-C sides and runs SMLIGHT's SLZB-OS web UI. Power it from 802.3af PoE or USB-C at 5V. The point of the 06 series is that the radio leaves the hub: mount it where coverage is good and let it reach Home Assistant over the LAN, instead of parking it on a USB port beside an SSD whose 2.4 GHz noise cripples Zigbee. ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT both talk to it as a network serial port. A second adapter is a second, separate mesh rather than more coverage on the first, and it needs its own Zigbee2MQTT instance, since ZHA drives one coordinator per Home Assistant install. The SMLIGHT SLZB integration adds firmware version, uptime, and radio diagnostics as entities, and firmware updates for both the ESP32 and the radio are one click in the web UI. This is the Zigbee pick of the line. For a Thread border router specify the Silicon Labs SLZB-06Mg24U, and for Zigbee and Thread at the same time specify the SLZB-MR3U.
