Glydea Ultra 60 RTS
Glydea Ultra 60 is Somfy's curtain track motor for heavy drapery, quiet enough for a bedroom and strong enough for 132 lb of fabric on a 36 ft run. The RTS version is the one most fabricators ship, and it reaches Home Assistant through a TaHoma, Connexoon RTS, or myLink gateway.
Soft start and soft stop protect the fabric and are the reason a motorized curtain looks expensive rather than cheap, and travel speed is adjustable up to about 20 cm/s. The 60 model carries roughly twice the drapery weight of the 35 and runs to a longer track, so the choice between them is made by the fabric, not the opening. It ships with a 10 ft cord to a standard outlet, which means an accessible socket behind the drapery pocket has to be planned into the joinery rather than found afterwards. Tracks are made to order for pinch pleat or ripplefold, so the motor is specified with the track and not bought separately. Control is RTS, so Home Assistant drives it without feedback; Somfy also sells Glydea in a Zigbee 3.0 version and in wired DCT and RS-485 variants, which are the paths to consider when a curtain has to be part of a state-dependent scene.
Hardware availability
TaHoma switch is the current hub in both Europe and North America, in two regional variants: the European unit adds io-homecontrol to RTS and Zigbee, the North American unit is RTS and Zigbee only because io-homecontrol is not sold there. TaHoma v2 and the Connexoon boxes are no longer marketed, and Somfy’s own product page labels the Connexoon box discontinued, but both stay supported by Home Assistant and both still answer the local API. Somfy myLink is listed obsolete on the Somfy store. Motors are ordered through Somfy dealers and shade fabricators rather than retail, so several of the links below are manufacturer product pages rather than storefronts.
