IZYMO Shutter Receiver io
The IZYMO Shutter Receiver io (1822661) is a micromodule that fits behind an existing shutter switch and puts a wired roller shutter onto io-homecontrol without replacing the motor. The existing wall switch keeps working, and the shutter gains position feedback through the gateway.
The cheapest route from a wired shutter to an automatable one: the module goes in the switch box, the original switch stays live for anyone who does not want an app, and the shutter appears in Home Assistant as a cover with open, close, stop, and position through the TaHoma or Connexoon gateway. Radio is io-homecontrol at 868 to 870 MHz, which is what makes the feedback possible; an RTS equivalent of this module would give control without state. Watch the enclosure depth, because a micromodule plus existing wiring needs a deep box, and the neutral has to be present at the switch. Somfy's regional storefronts have shown this reference out of stock, which is a supply question rather than a published end of life, so confirm availability and lead time with a dealer before designing a whole floor around it; where it cannot be sourced, an Oximo io motor swap achieves the same result at a higher labour cost.
Hardware availability
TaHoma switch is the current hub in both Europe and North America, in two regional variants: the European unit adds io-homecontrol to RTS and Zigbee, the North American unit is RTS and Zigbee only because io-homecontrol is not sold there. TaHoma v2 and the Connexoon boxes are no longer marketed, and Somfy’s own product page labels the Connexoon box discontinued, but both stay supported by Home Assistant and both still answer the local API. Somfy myLink is listed obsolete on the Somfy store. Motors are ordered through Somfy dealers and shade fabricators rather than retail, so several of the links below are manufacturer product pages rather than storefronts.
