The core powerwall integration polls the gateway's local HTTP API: battery percentage, solar production, home load, grid import/export, and grid status, all on the LAN. Powerwall 3 exposes a more restricted local API than Powerwall 2: aggregate power flows, charge level, and grid status work, but per-battery sensors, backup reserve control, and off-grid switching are not available locally. Site-level data continues through outages.
