One in-wall device that controls both the ceiling fan and its light, so a fan job stops needing two gangs. Home Assistant gets a fan entity and a light entity from a single switch.
Four fan speeds for AC motor fans under 60W and 1 to 100 percent dimming on the light, with load ratings of 150W LED or 300W incandescent and 1.5A on the fan. The requirement that decides the job: separate fan and light load wires have to arrive at the box, since the switch cannot split a fan and light sharing one switched leg. Neutral required, single pole, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. The tplink integration exposes the fan and the light as separate entities over local polling, which is what lets a comfort recipe hold a fan speed while lighting follows daylight.
