Tapo CentralHub H500

SKU H500

Tapo's top hub: 16 cameras, 64 sub-1GHz sensors, a drive bay for local recording and HDMI out to a monitor. Read the Home Assistant support caveat below before specifying it, because the integration does not cover it yet.

The hardware is a small NVR rather than a sensor bridge: up to 16 Tapo cameras and 64 sub-1GHz sensors, 16GB of eMMC plus a 2.5in SATA bay taking up to 16TB, HDMI out for a wall monitor, USB-A and USB-C, a 110dB siren, two way audio and on-box AI so recordings never leave the property. Three radios and a port do different jobs: the uplink is the 10/100 RJ45 WAN port or 5GHz Wi-Fi, a separate 2.4GHz radio serves its cameras, and sub-1G carries the sensors. Powered by a 12V 2A supply and rated 0 to 40C, so it wants a conditioned space, not an attic. The catch for our use: the H500 is not on the Home Assistant tplink integration's supported list, and installers report adds failing after the Tapo login step, so treat native support as absent today. The Matter path is partial: the H500 is a Matter bridge for its sub-1G children (TP-Link names the T100, T310, T315 and S220) and a Matter controller for third-party plugs and bulbs, with no Thread radio, and Home Assistant users report the bridge appearing without its child devices following. Where the job needs sensors in Selora recipes now, specify the H200 or H100 and revisit this hub when the integration catches up.
