Each of the three AC outlets is its own switch entity through the local tplink integration; the USB ports charge but are not separately switchable. Surge protection is built in, and there is no energy monitoring on this model, so reach for the Kasa HS300 when the job needs per outlet metering. Onboard it in the Tapo app first, then add it in Home Assistant with your TP-Link cloud credentials.
