Trane
Trane and American Standard smart thermostats in Home Assistant. Most run through the cloud. The nexia integration (cloud polling, with a Nexia or Trane Home account) covers the Wi-Fi XL1050, XL850, and XL824 plus their American Standard equivalents. Local control is limited. Only the Trane XL1050 and American Standard Platinum 1050 on firmware v5.9 or later have local control, through the Trane Local integration over the LAN with mTLS. The older, discontinued XR524 has its own Z-Wave radio and runs fully locally through Z-Wave JS.

American Standard's AccuLink Platinum 850 (AZONE850) is the American Standard version of the Trane XL850, a communicating thermostat with a 4.3-inch color touchscreen, Wi-Fi, and a built-in Z-Wave hub. In Home Assistant it is cloud-only through the nexia integration.
XL1050
Trane's ComfortLink II XL1050 has a 7-inch color touchscreen, Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and a built-in Z-Wave hub. It runs Trane's communicating, zoned HVAC systems with RoomIQ remote sensors, and it is the one Trane thermostat with a local Home Assistant path.
XL824

It runs 2-stage heat and 1-stage cool, including heat pumps, and Home Assistant controls mode, setpoints, and fan locally through Z-Wave JS without a Nexia bridge or account.
