The Cloud Key Gen2 Plus is the smallest UniFi Protect console: a PoE-powered box with its own 1 TB drive that runs Protect without touching the routing. Home Assistant's unifiprotect integration connects to it locally.

Protocols
The console to specify when the client's router is staying put. It runs UniFi Protect and UniFi Network on a box the size of a paperback, takes 802.3af PoE off any switch, and is the only console here that ships with its drive already in it, which makes it the one least likely to arrive incomplete. It is also the smallest: a few cameras, not a house full, and no PoE for them. Ubiquiti sells it in two forms, this one with a 1 TB hard disk and a UCK-G2-SSD with a 1 TB solid-state drive, so check which is orderable before quoting the part number. The unifiprotect integration connects over the LAN to the console. Full access needs a local UniFi OS user created on the console itself plus a Protect API key; an API key alone works but exposes a subset of the entities. Ubiquiti SSO cloud accounts do not work either way.
