UniFi Dream Machine SE

SKU UDM-SE

The UDM SE is a router, switch, PoE source, and UniFi Protect recorder in one rack unit. On a small UniFi camera job it is the whole head end, and the console Home Assistant's unifiprotect integration talks to.

Works on integrations
Protocols
The Dream Machine that can power cameras itself, which on a small job removes the separate PoE switch. Count the ports before relying on that: of the eight gigabit ports only two are PoE+ at 30 W, the other six are standard PoE at 15.4 W, against a 180 W budget, so two higher-draw cameras is the ceiling before a switch comes back into the quote. It runs UniFi Network and UniFi Protect together on a single 3.5-inch bay, which is the limit worth watching, since a job that outgrows one drive wants a UNVR instead. The drive is not included; the built-in 128 GB SSD is application storage, not recording space. The unifiprotect integration connects over the LAN to the console. Full access needs a local UniFi OS user created on the console itself plus a Protect API key; an API key alone works but exposes a subset of the entities. Ubiquiti SSO cloud accounts do not work either way.
