KNX IP Interface 732 secure

SKU 5248

The 732 secure is Weinzierl's KNX Secure IP interface, one module wide and powered from the bus. Eight simultaneous KNXnet/IP tunnels and AES-128 KNX IP Secure make it the interface to specify when Home Assistant, ETS, and a visualisation all need to hold a connection to the same line at once.

Works on integrations
Protocols
One module (18mm) DIN rail housing drawing about 20mA from the KNX bus, so it costs a rail slot and nothing else in the board. Up to eight simultaneous KNXnet/IP tunnelling connections, which is where it separates from the non-secure 731 (five tunnels, 10BaseT, no KNX Secure) that it otherwise resembles; the two look identical on the rail, so order by article number, 5248 rather than 5242. KNX IP Security with AES-128 covers Tunneling V2 and Core V2, and Home Assistant joins a secure tunnel with the .knxkeys keyring exported from the ETS project, or with a manually entered User-ID, password, and device authentication code. Ethernet is 100BaseT with DHCP or Auto IP; give it a reservation, since a Home Assistant tunnel config points at an address. Long frame support keeps ETS downloads quick, and buttons and multicolour LEDs on the front give local diagnostics without a laptop. Works with ETS 5 and ETS 6.

Hardware availability

Weinzierl sells through KNX distribution rather than retail. The interface and router families run secure and non-secure variants side by side under adjacent article numbers, and the difference is not visible on the DIN rail, so specify by article number: 731 and 751 are the non-secure interface and router, 732 secure and 752 secure the KNX Secure ones.
