The 752 secure routes KNX telegrams between lines over the LAN as a fast backbone, and doubles as a KNX Secure interface with up to eight tunnels. One module wide and bus powered, it is the device that lets a multi-line KNX project use IP as its backbone and still give Home Assistant a way in.
One module (18mm) DIN rail housing drawing about 20mA from the KNX bus. As a router it forwards telegrams between KNX TP lines over IP, with an extended filter table covering main groups 0 to 31 and a buffer of up to 150 telegrams, which is what keeps a backbone from dropping bursts when a line floods. As a secure router it bridges an unsecured TP line onto a secure IP backbone, so an existing line can stay as commissioned while the backbone is encrypted. It is also a KNX Secure interface in its own right, up to eight simultaneous KNXnet/IP tunnels with AES-128 Tunneling V2 and Core V2, so Home Assistant can tunnel through it rather than joining the multicast group. Ethernet is 100BaseT with ARP, ICMP, IGMP, UDP/IP, TCP/IP, DHCP and Auto IP; the IGMP support is the part that matters if you do route rather than tunnel, because multicast has to survive every switch between the board and the Home Assistant host. Article number 5249, and the non-secure sibling is the 751. Works with ETS 5 and ETS 6.
Hardware availability
Weinzierl sells through KNX distribution rather than retail. The interface and router families run secure and non-secure variants side by side under adjacent article numbers, and the difference is not visible on the DIN rail, so specify by article number: 731 and 751 are the non-secure interface and router, 732 secure and 752 secure the KNX Secure ones.
