The Yale Assure Lock 2 is a modular deadbolt family (keypad, touchscreen, key-free, and fingerprint trims) whose swappable Z-Wave module gives Home Assistant fully local control on Z-Wave JS with managed user codes.

Covers the YRD410 keypad, YRD420 touchscreen, key-free, Touch fingerprint, and Assure Lock 2 Plus home-keys trims: all take the same smart modules. Spec the newer 700-series ZW3 Z-Wave module (S2 plus SmartStart) where you can; the older ZW2 module is 500-series and often includes at S0. Home Assistant gets lock and unlock, battery, keypad and tamper events, and full PIN management via Z-Wave JS user-code actions. Do not rely on its door-state sensing over Z-Wave, so pair a contact sensor. The Wi-Fi module routes through the Yale Access cloud and the Matter module has quietly disappeared from Yale's store, so Z-Wave is the local path; fingerprint enrollment and calibration need the Yale app.
