Eight Sleep Integration Setup
Connect the Eight Sleep Pod to Home Assistant with the Eight Sleep HACS integration using your account email and password, with optional client credentials.
The Eight Sleep Pod connects to Home Assistant through a community-built Eight Sleep integration installed as a custom repository in HACS. It signs in with your Eight Sleep account email and password; a client ID and client secret can also be supplied but are optional.
Before You Start
Confirm the following before you begin:
- HACS is installed. If it is not, follow the HACS download guide first.
- You have the Eight Sleep account email and password available.
- Neither side of the bed is in away mode. Turn away mode off before setting up the integration.
Step 1: Install the Integration Through HACS
- In Home Assistant, go to HACS and open Custom Repositories.
- Add the Eight Sleep repository as a custom repository.
- Search for Eight Sleep in HACS and choose Install.
- Restart your Home Assistant instance.
Step 2: Add the Integration
- Go to Settings > Devices & Services > Add Integration and select Eight Sleep.
- Enter the Eight Sleep account email and password.
- Leave the client ID and client secret blank unless you have your own values. Supplying them is an advanced option that involves capturing the login request from the Eight Sleep app, and it is not required for the integration to work.
- Submit and wait for the devices to appear.
Step 3: Verify the Entities
Once connected, the integration creates entities for each side of the bed, including:
- bed temperature sensors and climate controls,
- heart rate, HRV, and breath rate sensors,
- sleep quality and fitness scores,
- alarm switches and next-alarm sensors, and
- base position controls (head and feet angles, presets) on adjustable bases.
