Sense Energy Monitor Setup
Connect the Sense energy monitor to Home Assistant with your Sense account credentials for whole-home power and energy sensors.
The Sense energy monitor connects to Home Assistant through the built-in Sense integration using your Sense account username and password. It provides whole-home power and energy sensors plus sensors for the individual devices Sense has detected.
Before You Start
Confirm the following before you begin:
- The Sense monitor is installed and set up in the Sense app.
- You have the Sense account username and password available.
- If multi-factor authentication is enabled on the account, you can receive the verification code.
Step 1: Add the Sense Integration
- In Home Assistant, go to Settings > Devices & Services.
- If Sense was discovered automatically, select it under Discovered. Otherwise, select Add Integration and search for Sense.
- Sign in with the Sense account credentials and follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 2: Verify the Sensors
Once connected, the integration creates:
- active power usage and production sensors, updated every 60 seconds,
- trend sensors for energy usage, production, grid import and export, net production, and solar percentage, updated every 5 minutes, and
- binary sensors and power sensors for each device detected by the Sense monitor.
