SmartThings Integration Setup

The SmartThings integration brings devices from your SmartThings account into Home Assistant, including Samsung appliances and TVs plus anything connected to a SmartThings hub. It is a cloud-to-cloud integration, so it needs an internet connection and your Samsung account credentials.

Before You Start

Confirm the following before you begin:

1. You have a Samsung account and its credentials available.
2. Your devices are set up in the SmartThings app.
3. Home Assistant has a working internet connection.

Step 1: Add the SmartThings Integration

1. In Home Assistant, go to Settings > Devices & Services.
2. If SmartThings was discovered automatically, select it under Discovered. Otherwise, select Add Integration and search for SmartThings.
3. Follow the sign-in flow and log in with the Samsung account.
4. Authorize access and select the SmartThings location you want to connect.

Step 2: Verify the Devices

Once linked, the devices from the selected SmartThings location appear in Home Assistant. Devices report through the cloud, so brief delays are normal.
